See what they’ve said about us and our coaches and consultants:

‘As part of our development of an internal coaching pool, Elizabeth Crosse has been acting as Coach Mentor to two cohorts of participants pursuing ICF ACC accreditation. She has helped them to understand and explore:

  • the accreditation process
  • the ICF competencies (and their application in our practice)
  • the recording of a sample coaching conversation
  • completing the Knowledge Assessment examination

Elizabeth has brought her breadth of experience to our mentoring: she has built rapport quickly, allowing her to challenge our thinking and support our exploration of our coaching practices. I have been impressed by her flexibility in working with a diverse group of internal coaches, her willingness to create a blended mentoring programme to meet our needs and her patience in responding to the time constraints we often encounter. She has worked hard to understand our opportunities and barriers, and has worked to support us as we work through them. She has been invaluable in supporting us on our journey to ICF accreditation.’ Learning & Development Specialist (Coaching and Mentoring), Group HR, in the UK arm of a multi-national

‘Elizabeth has an honest and intuitive approach to the coaching process and coaching sessions that supported me in finding my way quickly to a proper understanding of my values and a much better understanding of myself. The changes I have made as a result of the coaching sessions have dramatically improved both my working and personal life.’ Jenny Goodwin, Head of Secretariat, PRS for Music

‘I really enjoyed working with Elizabeth. I decided to go ahead with the ICF ACC process in order to develop and hone my skills after a few years working as a coach and a lack of confidence that what I was doing was “right.” By the end of our sessions together I not only felt more confident than ever in my coaching skills, but I had a much clearer sense of where I wanted to go and who I wanted to be as a coach. From our first meeting, I found Elizabeth to be extremely warm, open and incredibly pragmatic when it came to the best way to approach things. Her versatile approach meant that every session was different according to what I wanted to cover, and she provided a platform for me to air my concerns, explore my purpose and evaluate my skills. She coached me, I coached her and she gave me invaluable feedback wearing her ICF assessor’s hat on my recorded session prior to submission. The real value-add with working with Elizabeth was that it wasn’t just about the core competencies and ticking the boxes, it was about who I am as a coach, what I have to offer the coaching community and where I want to take that. I have already recommended Elizabeth to several colleagues going through ICF accreditation or renewal, but I would not hesitate to recommend her as a coach’s coach, a supervisor or a mentor. I sincerely look forward to working with her again at another point in my career.’ Sarah Creevey, ACC, Coach and Trainer

‘Before embarking on my personal coaching journey with Elizabeth I believed that I had a long way to go to become the leader that I wanted to be and off the back of some challenging times my self-confidence was at a low. However from the first session it became apparent that I had made the right decision in appointing Elizabeth as my coach. I responded well to her open, honest and pleasant manner and her ability to quickly establish a coaching style that I felt comfortable with and one that still challenged me to reach my goals. My confidence came back and is now stronger than ever and I have been provided with the tools to take my leadership journey to the next level.’ Head of Asset Management, a housing association

‘Following some very positive referrals from Senior Managers and Directors in my organisation, I approached Elizabeth to provide me with some coaching around managing change in an uncertain, unstable environment and thinking about my next professional step. Elizabeth’s approach was structured, well-planned and used time efficiently. She delivered positive and development messages well, with the appropriate level of emotion to ensure the messages were well received and accepted. She also used a number of analytical tools that helped cement the learnings and observations. These tools have helped me in my personal development and in achieving a secondment to further my career.’ Finance Business Partner, Non-Departmental Government Body

‘The coaching experience has allowed me to push boundaries and move out of my comfort zone, it has empowered me to try out new skills and learning that I may not have otherwise had the confidence to try. Over the year, I have learned how you can set yourself goals, small or large and identify the steps to achieving those goals. Through the coaching sessions, a really powerful question was asked ‘when you are 60, how will you reflect back on your achievements’ – this is a really thought-provoking question which makes you think about professional and personal goals as well as your person motivations and drivers. The coaching sessions have propelled my personal development and I look forward to learning the techniques myself through attending a two day coaching course which is run in-house. I would definitely recommend coaching as a tool to personal development.’ Public sector manager

‘I benefited particularly from the confidential, neutral and reflective space which enabled unrestricted exploration of some real fundamentals… Looking back, it’s quite some achievement that over the course of just four coaching sessions I developed a real sense of clarity and purpose in terms of what I need to focus on in the immediate future, and also an increased confidence and optimism in considering my options beyond the Civil Service.’ SCS member of the Career Transition service

‘I learnt that the use of metaphor can really change the dynamics of a coaching situation. It is a great way to create greater awareness and overcome resistance with clients. I will be weaving this into my coaching sessions now on.’ Internal Coach, Department of Health

‘I realised after doing the course that I knew a lot less about coaching than I thought I did and learnt so much in terms of practical skills which I can use! Really found coaching I had from others in the course useful and moved on with an issue I have been grappling with for over a year.’ NHS Manager

‘The training [in Stockholm] was a huge success and Kelly more than exceeded our expectations.’ Capability Director, FMCG multi-national

‘Receiving coaching from you has helped me to become much more confident, and more sure of being myself (just a bit better!). I’ve appreciated being challenged most of all, and although sometimes this has made me feel uncomfortable, I was always aware that it was in my best interests, and I was always pleased with what I was able to come up with as a result. I have found you incredibly supportive, and have found you to be genuinely interested in my particular challenges. The coaching has been particularly helpful for me in terms of looking at strengths, as well as areas for improvement, because I have a natural tendency to focus on the things that need fixing! If I’m honest, I was a little bit sceptical, and thought coaching might not be of much help to me, but now I feel very strongly that it has helped me develop far more this year than I could have thought possible, and made me hopeful that I can spread the benefits wider.’ Public sector manager

‘Elizabeth’s Mentor Coaching sessions have helped me to hold a mirror up to myself as a coach and challenge what I see, consistently increasing my awareness and self-knowledge. In particular, they have helped me to understand who I am as a coach, how I move beyond the problem to work with the person, and how my natural role in the drama triangle can influence my position as a coach – these reflections have persisted beyond the mentoring sessions to deepen my everyday practice, with noticeable results. I have grown as a coach and in other aspects of my professional life as a result of these sessions. It’s a lifelong journey and this has been an insightful beginning.’ Learning and Development Manager, Housing Association

‘Fantastic content… passion and motivation.’ ‘Very active training. Angela fantastic trainer.’ Two participants on a coaching skills workshop, global FMCG, Italy

‘The coaching really made me challenge myself and the way I do things and think about the barriers I put in the way of achieving something. It also helped me to challenge those around me and be more assertive where necessary but also to consider the needs of others, beyond the usual support I would provide. The coaching has made me think through how I work with others, particularly in relation to delegating and line management. The work that we did made me address gaps in my own knowledge and seek out opportunities that I hadn’t previously taken. Although never one to rest on my laurels the coaching definitely motivated me and now when I’m stuck with something I challenge myself to solve it and find a solution.’ Public sector manager

It’s been about 3 months since I completed a cycle of well-being coaching with Elizabeth and there are not enough superlatives to describe the impact it has had on my life – all I can say is “just do it”.

The reason I say this is before beginning the conversations I completed an assessment form for Elizabeth that contained phrases like “there is no joy in my life”. And although I knew that I wasn’t happy or “well”, I wasn’t really sure what “well-being” meant or would look like for me. I was associating it with physical fitness in my mind (maybe because I was not fit), but didn’t really “get” it. All of that soon changed; through Elizabeth skilled interventions I clarified for myself what I meant by well-being and from there I was able to build a step-by-step approach to how I could achieve “well-being”. I realise that in writing this I am making it all sound very easy – and in a sense it was – Elizabeth’s coaching guided me to a place where I developed a new depth of understanding about my everyday choices and their impact on my overall well-being. A few months on the impact is that I feel well, I have lost just over a stone in weight – without any form of observable weight-loss plan or diet – and I am healthier and happier. I still have a life that is busy and contains challenges that are outside the norm, and to the outside observer nothing at all has changed. And actually the only thing that has changed is within me and my approach to life. It worked for me and I am confident it will work for you if you embrace the process. Just do it.’ HR Business Partner, non-governmental body

‘The coaching training that I have undertaken has been invaluable in handling many more situations than those confined to a formal ‘coaching’ environment. I now find myself regularly relying on the coaching skills that I have gained to manage difficult 1:1 conversations at work, in team meetings and even some aspects of my home life! I thoroughly recommend coaching skills as a way to bolster your management skills and to get the most out of the conversations that you have in all aspects of life.’ Senior Manager, Legal Services Commission
